The Council hosted Ambassador Ronald Neumann for this virtual Roundtable event. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ambassador Neumann is the President of the American Academy of Diplomacy. He served previously as Ambassador to Algeria (1994-1997), Bahrain (2001-2004), and Afghanistan (2005-2007). By exploring the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, Ambassador Neumann highlighted the importance of lessons learned in foreign policy.
