In light of current world events and Ambassador Bremberg recently returning from Eastern Europe, the Council welcomes him for this virtual Roundtable. Ambassador Bremberg is currently the President and CEO of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. Previously, he served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the European Office of the United Nations from 2019 to January 2021. Prior to his tenure as Ambassador, he served as Assistant to the President and as Director of the Domestic Policy Council for the Executive Office of the President. He also has worked in the Office of the Senate Majority Leader as a Policy Advisor and for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. When considering Eastern Europe's previous conflicts against the Soviets, Ambassador Bremberg assesses "We can see striking parallels to what is transpiring in Ukraine today."
